What Is SEO

What is SEO

Our dependence on technology for day-to-day living is the most common form of communication and knowledge access in an era of information. Having access to the Internet is an everyday household necessity. Everyone relies on search engines to bring up the most relevant information according to their personal and business needs. Search Engine Optimization encourages this type of organic search. It opens a path directly from the consumers’ search to the website, exactly what a business desires, more traffic. If you own a business, website, or social platform, you will benefit from using Search Engine Optimization.

What is SEO? SEO is all about brand visibility

Search Engine Optimization is recognition by Google, optimizing search results, and producing an influx of traffic. Sounds simple; however, many factors make recognition possible throughout the World Wide Web. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) applies to the content provided on a platform, website, and social media. Keywords are strategically placed by an SEO specialist/content creator within the content pieces, encouraging direct contact to the appropriate website.

There are plenty of search engines that are recognizable but not widely used. Google is the boss and holds the largest piece of the market with millions upon millions of users. It is highly advisable that any business should aim to gain Google’s attention. A search engine has three main functions: crawl (enabling detection), index, and rank. When a keyword or phrase is being researched, a search engine will discover the content, store the information found, and rank by relevancy. These functions are what makes SEO a powerful marketing tool.

The keyword or phrase is the primary focus of the search determined by the consumer. The input of the keyword or phrase will generate results of applicable information, such as links to websites, photos, or even videos, which will lead the organic search. Organic search is an unpaid listing; and what will dictate a website’s performance on the Internet. A non-organic search is paid advertisements, which are often overlooked. The purpose of an SEO specialist will be to monitor and implement the keywords relevant to the content, therefore, encouraging high ranking on the search engine. Let’s be honest; there is a high probable chance that no one goes to page number 2 if they can not find what they are looking for within the first few links on the first page of Google’s listings. Therefore, a business should not allow their website to fall on page number 2!

Bringing focused attention to a website and maintaining attention requires accessible content and must be user friendly. A website can prevent access by requiring mandatory log in’s, surveys to be filled out before accessing information or application forms. A consumer will most likely lose interest, and there is a slim chance for Google to detect accessible information. A website may not have enough engaging content or proper keywords for recognition, therefore preventing a user-friendly search. Luckily, an SEO specialist knows how to strategically manipulate content to gain attention from Google and the consumer.

SEO is all about brand visibility and is a valuable tool in the marketing industry. Who knew that

SEO was so important!

My life has been surrounded with computers since I was a child, from my first job as a Computer Assembly Assistant to the current ownership of Priority Networks, a dental focused networking company. Starting with an Apple computer connecting to other networks when I was only 13 years old, I quickly knew this passion would lead to bigger ventures. As the internet started to evolve, I immediately worked for an Internet Service Provider (ISP). This gave me insight to the power of worldwide internet communications and the capabilities of sharing data across multiple networks simultaneously. The dedication towards this field has given me the advantage of understanding new technologies and grasping complicated issues quickly from software, hardware, networking, security, management and much more. As a Computer Network Manager for Tesma International, a division of Magna International, I gained the experience of becoming a qualified NAI Network Sniffer, EDI Communications Specialist, Head Securities Manager, MRP Manufacturing Integration Manager, and received several enhanced managerial and technological training courses. Moving forward to today, I apply all my knowledge, training and years of solid network experience to deliver the very best support to all my customers at Priority Networks.
